At this point, does anyone in the U.K. actually know what’s really on the dinner plate?  Muslim leaders are not happy after tests found Pork DNA in supposedly Halal Chicken Sausages meant for little kids at a primary school in central London.

Lamb and pork DNA were found in what was labeled as “lean minced beef”. The items were removed from all school meals and the school lunch program will stop buying the meat supplier in question.

The Halal sausages were a menu choice in 15 primary schools, two nurseries, one special school and one pupil referral unit, all of which took Halal-only meat. The lean minced beef was used in 18 schools.

Islamic dietary law expressly forbids the eating of pork and 4,400 pupils choose the Halal meal option.

Initially, inspectors were not looking for pork:  The Westminster Council tested the various meat products to determine if horsemeat was being used in kids’ school lunches.

Meanwhile, British food inspectors say horsemeat was found in frozen meatloaf sold at the Aldi discount food chain, weeks after the initial discovery of horsemeat the set off the furor earlier this year.
