Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas is stepping down on Monday, after prosecutors charged his closest aide with corruption and abuse of power.

Necas’ ruling coalition will try to form a new government led by someone nominated by his Civic Democratic Party.

Two former Members of Parliament, an ex-minister, and the current and former heads of military intelligence have also been arrested.

Detectives say Jana Nagyova, a long time associate of the soon-to-be former Prime Minister, bribed the former MPs to get them to give up their parliament seats for jobs in state-owned firms.
