At least two people are dead and more than two dozen are injured after a pair of explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.  A third explosion at the JFK library, also in Boston, is also under investigation.  Details are still sketchy, and information and misinformation are flying hand in hand, so we’re going to keep this to the few confirmed details.

About half of the participants in the Boston Marathon had already crossed the finished when the first explosion occurred (VIDEO IS HERE).

15 second later, a second explosion went off on the same side of the street, down the block in the opposite direction of the runners’ path.  People were frantically heading in that direction to escape the first blast when the second one went off.

In this photo, you can see the second blast in the center of the photo, and further down the block the white smoke plume from the first explosion is still rising.  This one shows a senior runner who fell because of the first blast.  This one appears to be an overhead of the aftermath, taken from a window near the first blast,  Blood stains on the sidewalk are visible.

A doctor at Boston General Hospital came out to speak to reporters and revealed they were treating several victims with “Traumatic Amputations”.  And if you google that, be forewarned the photos are quite gruesome and upsetting.
