Hackers have struck the Internet dating website Adult Friend Finder, and leaked what was supposed to be the highly secret sex lives of some 3.9 million clients onto “darkweb” forums – the secret, hidden portions of the Internet that can’t be accessed through regular search engines and browsers, and where criminal activity flourishes.

That would be trouble for any of the 3.9 million who might have used their real names or email addresses in the dating service, or worse yet, their credit cards.  If only it involves someone we've heard of!

According to the UK’s Channel Four News, which broke the story, the revealed data exposes the sexual preferences of users, their names, postal codes, email addresses, and even the IP addresses of the devices from which they accessed the service.  Some crime experts believe that criminals will go through the data in search of blackmail targets.  The data purportedly includes addresses linked to dozens of government and armed services personnel, including members of the British Army. Oh, and here’s a big shocker:  Most adult Friend Finder users.. were men!  Totally!  Apparently, the leaked data shows a 16-to-1 male-to-female ratio.
