Guinea raised the death toll from the Ebola epidemic in the West African country, adding nine to the 86 deaths acknowledged before the weekend to reach 95 lives lost.  Outbreaks are reported in scattered area from the southern forests to the sprawling capital Conakry.

But even with the deadly spread, the medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) has said it has discharged a number of people who were being treated for Ebola disease, which can kill up to 90 percent of those infected.

But in a statement, MSF says it’s facing challenges.  It was forces to suspend its activities in the southeast misinformed locals threw rocks at aid workers’ buildings and vehicles, under the mistaken impression that the disease had been brought into the country by MSF.

Meanwhile, Liberia confirms that five patients who died did have Ebola.  Mali is down to four suspected cases of Ebola, with two ruled out after tests conducted by the US Centers for Disease Control.
