The father of fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden says he has gotten the correct papers from Russia, and will visit his son in exile.

Appearing on American TV, Lon Snowden and his lawyer say that Moscow provided the visa to get in to Russia for the visit, but they’re not disclosing the elder Snowden’s travel plans because of all of the attention.  Edward Snowden's exact location is unknown.

Edward Snowden was granted asylum in Russia for a year.  He’s on the run from American authorities for revealing previously undisclosed information about the National Security Agency’s Internet and telecom spying programs, which have the capability ot eavesdropping on nearly every electronic conversation on the globe.

As for President Obama’s pledge last week to reform America’ vast surveillance, Lon Snowden doesn’t buy it.

And he disagreed with Obama’s claim that the US has whistleblower protection laws that would have allowed his son another avenue to question the government’s actions.

“The president made the statement that Edward – that the president had enacted whistle-blower laws that protected contractors like my son Edward, that is absolutely untrue. Either the president is being misled by his advisers or he is intentionally misleading the American people.”

Los Snowden also repeated his belief that Edward cannot get a fair trial in the United States.
