A man and a woman declaring the start of a “revolution” shot and killed two police officers as the cops were sat down for lunch at a pizza place in Las Vegas.  The couple the stormed a Walmart store and killed one more person before fulfilling what appeared to be a suicide pact.

“We have lost two officers with young families and a family of law enforcement who cares very much about them,” said a subdued Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Douglas Gillespie.  “What precipitated this event, we do not know.  My officers were simply having lunch when the shooting started.”

An officer acting as a spokeswoman early in the drama told reporters that the couple declared something along the lines of, “This is a revolution”, or, “The revolution starts now”.  Gillespie later declined to confirm it.

Witnesses described an execution-style assault on the officers, who likely never saw it coming.  One of the cops was able to get a round off before dying, but the assailants stole their ammunition before running across the street to the Walmart store.

Inside, the killed a woman just inside the door, unleashing chaos as shoppers and workers scrambled to safety.

“We saw when the man was walking, he was shouting, yelling bad words, and suddenly he had a gun,” said Pauline Pacheco, who was shopping at the time.  “It was terrible, it was terrible.  That man was crazy.”

After trading shots with police, the female suspect shot her partner in the head and turned the gun on herself.  Sheriff Gillespie said investigators believe the couple had a suicide pact.
