Greece's parliament stripped the official immunity of six lawmakers from the fascist Golden Dawn part.  The move paves the way for prosecutors to probe deeper into whether the party was involved in more criminal offenses.

A Golden Dawn member admitted killing a popular Left-wing hip-hop musician last month.  The crime might have been the final straw, triggering large anti-fascist protests and criminal investigations of the group, which had been implicated in other violence incidents against immigrants, LGBT people, and Leftists.

Golden Dawn has denied wrongdoing.  But polls show most Greek voters support the crackdown, despite the indignity of seeing elected politicians led away in handcuffs.

Although the party remains Greece's third most popular political force, support has dropped to about 6-7 percent of voters from 10-13 percent before the killing.

On Thursday, Parliament will vote on a bill to deprive funding from political parties whose leaders are convicted of violence.  That’s expected to remove a major source of Golden Dawn’s funding.
