As thousands of Greeks took to the streets to protest against the vile nazi Golden Dawn party that is linked to the cowardly murder of a popular musician, the Greek government took its first steps to clean the garbage out of the security forces and government.

Most of the protests were peaceful but spirited, as Greece demonstrated that it finally has had enough of the Golden Dawn, long linked to violence against Immigrants, LGBT, and Leftists.  The party’s approval rating has plunged six points since one of its key members admitted leading a group of more than a dozen assassins to murder hip-hop musician Pavlos Fyssas last week.  As night fell, the hardcore Antifa activists remained and clashed with police.

But although police dispersed the rock-throwers, the cops weren’t able to give cover to members of Golden Dawn as they had a week ago.  In a widely circulated video, Greek police are seen standing idle while fascists lob rocks at protesters.  The bald, bearded man in the red shirt is their leader.  He has since been identified as a ranking member of Golden Dawn.  He’s also seen standing right next to the murderer of Pavlos Fyssas at an earlier gathering of neo-nazis.

There’s more collusion.  A raid at a Golden Dawn office uncovered not only weapons and shotgun shells, but also police helmets and other police material.  A 45-year-old officer was arrested.

And there are repercussions. The Greek government plans to charge any politicians involved in criminal activity under anti-terrorism laws.  There’s also a proposal to end state funding for parties whose politicians are involved in crime.
