Indonesian police squads killed at least seven terrorism suspects over  days of raids aimed at flushing out suspected Islamic militants.

In one stand-off alone, the elite anti-terrorism units shot and killed four suspected fighters and arrested two others after an all-night standoff at a village hideout in Central Java.  They were investigating of the suspects were connected to an alleged plot to bomb the Myanmar embassy.  That would have been a revenge attack, as Myanmar has been rocked by a series of attacks by Buddhist mobs against Muslim minorities, since violent sectarian unrest last year.

In a separate incident Wednesday, police shot dead a suspected militant and arrested another in central Java.  The men were alleged to have been involved in a jewelry shop robbery, earlier this year, in Jakarta to fund terrorist activities.

Police spokesman Boy Rafi Amar said terrorists are collecting funds for operations by conducting bank robberies and other crimes.
