The face of America’s out-of-control gun was arrested after pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, smashing a glass-topped table and pushing her out of her Florida home.  It’s the latest in a string of troubles involving George Zimmerman since her was acquitted of murdering black teenager Trayvon Martin earlier this year.

It started in the Monday lunch hour when his 27-year-old girlfriend Samantha Scheibe asked Zimmerman to leave.  He “began packing his items, which included a shotgun and a AR assault rifle,” according to the police report.  When the argument escalated, Scheibe called police and told deputies that Zimmerman then pointed the shotgun at her.  He allegedly broke a glass table, pushed her out of her own home, and barricaded the door with furniture.

“She was concerned for her safety, certainly from having the weapon pointed at her,” said Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.  Authorities released that police call to the US media.

In recent months, Zimmerman has had a few run-ins with the law.  The most serious of which was 9 September, his estranged wife, Shellie, and her father accused him of threatening them with a gun while they were moving out her belongings.

In July, a Florida jury found him not guilty of murdering 17-year old African-American teen Trayvon Martin while Zimmerman was stalking his neighborhood as a self-appointed neighborhood watchman.  Zimmerman admitted shooting and killing the unarmed teen, who was merely walking back home after going out to buy some iced tea and candy.
