Armed robbers disguised as police pulled off a massive Diamond Heist at Brussels Airport in Belgium.  Broadcast reports say the gang made off with about $A50 Million in jewels.

Investigators say the robbers cut a hole through a fence at the airport, and barged into the cargo hold of a Helvetic Airways flight scheduled to go to Switzerland.  They made their way out of the airport through the same opening in the fence and might have left a burned-out car nearby.

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre says the diamonds are “rough stones” yet to be cut and polished for sale.
