Teen singing sensation Justin Beiber hopes that if Anne Frank had not been murdered in a nazi concentration camp in the 1940s she would have been a devoted fan.  I really, really wish this were a joke.

The 19-year old Beiber, his bodyguards, and entourage toured the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam.  At the end of his hour-long visit, he wrote in the guest book, “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”  And the docents put it on the Anne Frank Facebook page.

Adolescent and teen girls obsessed with the Canadian singer are known as “Beliebers.”

Needless to say, social media exploded with people calling Bieber "a little idiot" who is "way too full of himself," and lacking the self-awareness to realize that Anne Frank will be an important historical figure long after the world forgets Justin Beiber.

Anne Frank was 13-years old when  she and her family began hiding in a dark and damp "secret annex" of the house to escape the German round up of Jews in Holland in July 1942.  They were eventually found and arrested by Nazis in August 1944.

Anne Frank died of typhus in the Bergen-Belson concentration camp in March 1945.  Her diary survived to tell her tragic and inspiring story.
