Kenya is dealing with the repercussions of the deadly Westgate mall attack that killed 67 people:  For the second time in two months, Kenya troops are accused of robbing the very property they were supposed to be protecting.

Shop owners spent Monday carrying their stuff out of the gutted mall to prevent further thefts.  Those who have returned to their businesses claim their displays have been ransacked and valuables were stolen.  One says he saw a Kenyan soldier take cigarettes out of a dead man’s pocket (shouldn’t smoke anyway).

In early August, Kenyan troops, police, and firefighters were accused of similar thefts while fighting the devastating fire at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Meanwhile, the Kenyan Red Cross says 39 people are still missing from the 4-day siege, contradicting the government’s contention that there are no remaining missing people.
