The aunt of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has reportedly died.  This comes less than a month after Kim Jong-Un had her husband, his uncle Jang Song Thaek arrested and executed, celebrating the killing and denouncing him as a “dog”.

The South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reports Kim Kyong-Hui, the sister of the current leader’s father and daughter of North Korea’s founder, has either “committed suicide or died from a heart attack”.  She reportedly traveled to Russia last month to be treated for heart complications.

The newspaper said that South Korean intelligence sources have yet to confirm her death.  But Kim Kyong-Hui has not been seen publicly since 10 September when she attended a musical performance with Kim Jong-Un.

It was presumed that she was safe after her husband's execution when she appeared on a list of top officials named to a funeral committee for a fellow senior Workers' Party official in mid-December.
