A scene one tourist described as out of an action movie terrified people as a high-rolling shooting between luxury vehicles and explosive crash on the famed Las Vegas Strip has killed three people and injured 4 more.  And it has many visitors questioning their safety amid rising violence in America’s gambling Mecca.

Cops say a Range Rover and a Maserati were northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard through the glitzy Hotel and Casino district, when someone in the Range Rover opened fire on the Italian Sports Car.  It is not believed that either person in the Maz returned fire.  The Maserati then plowed into a Taxi, which exploded.  The taxi driver and a passenger were killed, as was the driver of the Maserati, the passenger injured.  The taxi was believed to be propane-powered, which would explain why it exploded so easily.  Several cars were caught up in the mayhem.

Las Vegas police are searching for the black Range Rover with tinted windows, big black rims, and temporary paper number plates in lieu of proper metal plates.

All this comes with a rising rate of violence since the beginning of the year.  Just this month, two people were critically wounded in a shooting at a parking garage, and a tourist was stabbed a few days ago in an elevator at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.

“This doesn't happen where we come from,” tourist Mark Thompson from Manchester, England told a local newspaper, adding, "We get stabbings, and gang violence, but this is like something out of a movie. Like 'Die Hard' or something."
