A Swiss court is ordering Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev to pay his ex-wife roughly half of his fortune – a settlement of more than A$4.8 Billion.  After six years in court, this might be the most expensive divorce in the history of the world.

It’s believed to be the exact amount that Elena Rybolovleva has been fighting for since 2008.  She is also believed to have won custody of their 13-year old daughter.  The couple has a 25-year old daughter, under whose name Dmitry is believed to have hidden even more assets from the Mrs.

The two met when they were students.  Although Dmitry studied to be a cardiologist, he quickly shifted gears at the collapse of the Soviet Union to build his fortune off the former state Potash companies, which is used in agricultural fertilizers.  Mother Russia is in Dmitry’s rear view, as he lives in a $320 Million penthouse in Monaco – probably with a view of his AS Monaco Football team.  His real estate holdings also include a private island off Greece, a penthouse in New York, and a mansion in Miami.
