The father of Olympic track star and accused killer Oscar Pistorius has his own family distancing itself from his controversial comments about Guns, Race, and South Africa.

Henke Pistorius said he and his family owned guns because they could not rely on the ANC-Led government and police to protect white people against criminals.

He laid South Africa’s terrible violent crime rate on the ANC, saying, "Some of the guns are for hunting and some are for protection, the hand guns. It speaks to the ANC government, look at white crime levels, why protection is so poor in this country, it's an aspect of our society,"

15,000 people wre murdered in South African last year alone.  Some 1,600 white Afrikaner farmers have been murdered since 1990, leading some to believe they are being targeted.

Oscar Pistorius is charged with the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, whom he claims he mistook for a burglar hiding in his bathroom.
