Two rockets have struck a district in the southern edge of Beirut, and a separate attack from southern Lebanon appears to have done no damage in Israel.

The second rocket launch was heard from a Lebanese town near the border with Israel.  Residents south of the border heard the rocket strike but there are no reports of damage.

It’s not clear who did it, but Hezbollah and some Palestinian groups operate in that area of southern Lebanon.

This follows another incident near Beirut in which attackers fired rockets at a Hezbollah stronghold in the south of the city, wounding at least four people. It came a day after the leader of Hezbollah promised it would stay in the Syrian conflict, defending the rule of President Bashar al-Assad.

If everything is connected, it means the Syrian Civil War is spreading out in a new direction.  In the recent past, Turkey has accused Syrian intelligence of ordering a deadly car bombing in a border town, and Syrian government troops have traded fire with Israel across the Golan Heights.
