British authorities have charged legendary Aussie Entertainer Rolf Harris with indecent assault and making indecent images of children.  Police had been investigating the charges against the 83-year old for at least nine months.

The charges sent shockwaves through the entertainment world and royal circles.  Rolf was personally commissioned by the royals to perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012, and painted the Queen’s portrait in 2005.

But that was shattered by the news that police had charged Rolf with nine counts of indecent assault:  Six involving a 15-year old girl during 1980-81, and three more involving am even younger 14-year old girl in 1986.

The four charges of making indecent images of a child stem from between March and July of last year.

He’s scheduled to appear at the Westminster magistrates’ court on 23 September.
