The bodies of nearly 200 victims of the downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 have been loaded onto refrigerated rail cars, which are parked in a “fly infested railway station” in the eastern Ukrainian town of Torez.  Their final destination is still unknown.  And Russian-backed rebels are still in control of the crash site.

The rebels now admit they do possess the “black box” flight data and cockpit voice recorders from the ill-fated Boeing 777-200, which US Secretary of State John Kerry says all evidence says was downed by a Russian-made missile operated by the rebels.

“Russia has armed the separatists,” Kerry said in a series of interviews on the American Sunday morning news shows.  “Russia has supported the separatists.  Russia has trained the separatists.  Russia continues to refuse to call publicly for the separatists to engage in behavior that would lend itself to a resolution of this issue.”

Kerry says the 197 bodies were haphazardly put on the rail cars by “drunken rebels”; management of the MH17 crash site was “grotesque”; and Moscow needed to intervene.  Other reports said several bodies had mysteriously disappeared under the separatists’ watch.  Indeed, BBC News aired video provided by the rebels themselves showing untrained locals rummaging through personal belongings, dumping out rucksacks and luggage, and collecting electronic memory sticks.
