Alaska State Troopers say alcohol played a role in a real mess when a man broke the one rule, the only thing you absolutely need to know in America’s 49th state:  DO NOT FEED THE BEARS.  Yeah, he fed a bear.

Troopers say the man just had too much to drink at a church picnic when he went for a bike ride and brought some food along.  That’s when he came across the bear (which he was not supposed to feed).

Trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen says the man threw it a piece of meat, and then he offered the bear another piece.

“That's when it kind of went ballistic,” Ipsen said.  Which is what bears do.  Which is why you’re not supposed to feed the bears.

Park rangers later found the bloodied man washing himself off at the campground, and took him to hospital in Anchorage.

“The bear was pretty much goaded into this,” said Trooper Ken Marsh.
