Deadlock gets the boot in Italy, two people are finally arrested in the Bangladesh building collapse although the building’s owner is still in hiding, and Feds in America say this time they really do have the man who mailed poisoned letters to the President.

Italy has a new coalition government after weeks of deadlock.  46-year old Centrist Enrico Letta of the Democratic Party will be Prime Minister after striking a deal with the right-wing party led by former PM Sylvio Berlusconi.  The third most powerful force from this spring elections ws the Five Star Movement led by Beppe Grillo, who is refusing to take part in a coalition government.

The owners of two garment companies are under arrest in the collapse of an 8-story building in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  The owner of the Rana Plaza building is still in hiding.  The death toll is at least 350 people killed and hundreds more injured.  And yet, rescuers say they can still hear the voices of even more survivors beneath the pile of shattered ferroconcrete.

A Mississippi man is charged with mailing letters poisoned with Ricin to president Barack Obama and two senators. Everett Dutschke is a former Republican political candidate and an accused pedophile, who was also in a long-running internet feud with the first man arrested and released in the case.  Dutschke faces life in prison if convicted.

The US is weighing its limited options in Syria after determining that the government of Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against rebels.  Arming the rebels in the 2-year civil war will be difficult because some factions are allied with al Qaeda.  And getting directly involved is right out of the question, with the US wrapping up two costly wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If you thought it couldn’t get worse in India, you unfortunately were wrong.  A 6-year old girl was raped and had her throat slit in New Delhi.  This time, the cops aren’t holding back, 22 suspects are under arrest and are being questioned.  This happened just days after a 5-year old girl was sexually assaulted in the same city.

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika is recovering after a “mini-stroke”; the government says his condition is not serious.  According to the American Stroke Association, a TIA is caused by a temporary blood clot and lasts just a short time and “usually causes no permanent injury to the brain”.  However, a third of TIA patients have a more serious stroke within a year.  Algeria is emerging after a protracted war with Islamist Radicals.

North Korea will put a US citizen on trial for allegedly attempting to over throw the Pyongyang government.  44-year old Pae Juh-Ho goes by Kenneth Bae in America.  The Christian activist was arrested crossing the border from Russia last year.  It is believed the North Korea will use Mr. Bae’s fate as some sort of leverage in its standoff with the west over nuclear weapons.
