Three suspects have reportedly confessed to murdering Mohammed Abu Khdeir, the 16-year old Palestinian boy who was abducted from near his West Bank home and whose charred remains were found in a Jerusalem forest.  They reportedly even reenacted the crime for police.

But progress in the murder case that enraged Palestinians and certainly a fair amount of Israelis hasn’t been enough to stop the growing violence and tensions between the two communities.  Militants in Gaza shot a salvo of rockets at Israel in revenge for killing seven Hamas fighters.  There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Israel denied killing the militants, saying the militants were killed in an illegal tunnel that caved in during an Israeli missile strike.  Israel also called up 1,500 reservists in anticipation for a deterioration of security in Gaza.
