Authorities in Central Texas are investigating the murders of a Prosecutor and his wife, and they want to know if the killings are related to the deaths of two other law enforcement officials.

Investigators found the bodies of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, shot to death in their home over the weekend.

The Assistant District Attorney for that county, Mark Hasse, was gunned down in January in a car park close to their office.  He was reportedly investigating the racist "Aryan Brotherhood" prison gang.

And the FBI is looking into whether the Texas murders are related to the assassination of the head of the Colorado prison system on 19 March.  The suspect of that killing was a member of a white supremacist prison gang called the "211 Crew".  That gunman died in a shoot out with police in Texas, not far from the Kaufman County murders.

Some current and former members of the Kaufman County prosecutor’s office have reportedly gone into hiding.
