A British woman injured her leg jumping off of a hotel balcony to escape allegedly sexual harassment in the Indian tourist city Agra.

The 30-something tourist says she asked for a 4:00 AM wake-up call.  But was shocked when the hotel manager showed up to do it personally, and then offered a “massage”.

The tourist told police the manager would not leave.  So she locked the door and fled over the balcony to the level below, which was when she hurt her leg.

Police arrested the hotel owner, and the tourist was booked into another hotel with female police guards, after her leg was treated.

It comes at a time of increased outrage over India’s attitudes towards women.  A Swiss tourist was gang raped last week.  And a medical student died of injuries sustained in a gang rape in Delhi last year.
