Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said a Colombian paramilitary group was guilty of the murder of a promising young lawmaker and his partner in the apartment they shared near Caracas earlier this month.  And while the Venezuelan government has frequently accused his right-wing neighbors of complicity in crimes, this time Maduro has names and confessions.

“The assassination was planned three months before hand,” said President Maduro, who presented surveillance video and a taped confession to reporters in a news conference to discuss the killing of 27-year old Robert Serra and Maria Herrera.  Maduro said that the Colombians plotted with Serra’s bodyguard and a police officer to commit the gruesome stabbing murders.

“Be absolutely certain that we will get to the masterminds of Serra’s murder inside and outside the country,” the President said.  In addition to the two Venezuelan alleged coconspirators, who are already under arrested, Maduro six Colombians whom he says lead a right-wing militia.

The president said that in the upcoming days, his administration would provide evidence of terrorist leaders living in Miami to US authorities.
