Stateless?  Or just tired of your current war-torn country?  Or maybe you just want to hide everything from the taxman?  If you have more than $100,000 in cash burning a hole in your pocket, there are some far away tropical islands beckoning.

Dominica in the easternmost part of the Lesser Antilles is a stop for ocean liners, and exports mostly Bananas and Soap.  But its also bringing in some new money with a growth industry:  Selling Citizenship.  For $100,000 you can buy an “Investor Visa”, like Palestinian businessman Hadi Mezawi who like many of his people are not recognized by any country.  He needs a passport for his job at a Brazilian Food company, and the Dominica passport is recognized in 139 other countries, no Visa required.  And now Mezawi is able to visit the black sand beaches in his new tropical “home” anytime he wants.

A Dubai-based company is building its own community elsewhere in the Caribbean in Saint Kitts, and the first 375 persons to invest $400,000 get citizenship with their stock.  Later on, people who buy Condos in the project will be offered passports.  In fact, you can be considered for fast-track citizenship in Saint Kitts for a $250,000 donation to a fund for retired sugar workers or with a minimum real estate investment of $400,000.

This isn’t limited to developing nations, but it’s where the deals are.  America offers a Visa to people who can invest $1,000,000 in a business employing at least 10 people.
