The White House tamps down internal opposition to a nuclear deal with Iran – Ukraine is running out of time to fix its human rights situation – And someone in Canada’s government has FINALLY spoken out against Toronto’s crack-smoking mayor.

US President Barack Obama is urging US senators to hold off from proposing more sanctions against Iran to allow time for world powers to complete a deal on Iran's nuclear program.  Envoys from the P5+1 group of nations will begin a new round of negotiations with Iran in Geneva on later today.  Some lawmakers have been hostile to the idea, but they’re going on holiday next week for the American Thanksgiving observance, giving the White House some breathing room in the negotiations.

Al Shabaab militants attacked a police station in Somalia that was also used by African Union peacekeepers.  At least 12 people were killed; 10 of them, defenders; the other two, civilians.  Al Shabaab hopes to turn Somalia into an Islamic state under the group’s medieval interpretation of Sharia Law.

Egyptian Police fired teargas into Cairo’s Tahrir Square to drive out people commemorating the deaths of 42 people two years ago.  While exercising old grudges against past military governments and the Muslim Brotherhood regime the protesters say betrayed the Arab Spring revolution, today’s demonstrators voiced their desire to overthrow what they called the new “military junta”, which replaced the overthrown Islamists.

Ukraine's parliament failed to break a deadlock on Tuesday over freeing jailed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko, a key demand of the European Union before allowing Ukraine to join.  The deadline is 29 November, so time is running out.  Tymoshenko is being treated at a German hospital, under guard.  Critics say her conviction was based solely on political considerations.

France President Francois Hollande ordered his interior ministry to use all possible means to find the gunman who attacked media outlets and a bank.  Authorities released a more detailed photo of the suspect.  The newspaper employee he wounded is awake in hospital after a medically induced coma to help him heal from gunshots to the abdomen and thorax.

The death toll from flooding on the Italian island of Sardinia has been raised to 18 lives lost.  The equivalent of a half-year’s rain fell in just 24 hours on Monday, overwhelming rivers and hillsides.  The flood reached three meters in some areas.  A state of emergency remains in effect.

And now.. Toronto’s Crack-Smoking Mayor.

The biggest buffoon in politics has lost his TV show.  A Canadian TV channel has cancelled Toronto’s crack-smoking Mayor Rob Ford TV show with his brother Doug after one airing.  To recap, Rob Ford admitted smoking crack and driving drunk.  He’s been caught on video staggering blotto and making insane homicidal rants.  He embarrassed his wife, whom police once suspected he abused – And that’s one of NINETY-SEVEN allegations

But for the first time in this saga, long documented by your friends at CareerSpot World News, a member of Canada’s conservative government is calling on Ford to step down.  Senior cabinet minister Jason Kenney broke the embargo on speaking out, saying it’s time for the Toronto mayor to step down to spare the city more embarrassment.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, a one-time ally of Ford, has yet to utter a peep about the extremely embarrassing soap opera going on in his largest and economically most-important city.
