David Cameron is criticized for leaving the country at a time of crisis; The mysterious death of an American Scientist in Asia could be reexamined; and we’ll find out why Germany is taking China’s side in a dispute with Europe.

British Police arrested a 10th person in the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby, the soldier run-over and hacked to death by two men claiming Islamist motives.  Some of the later arrestees are out on bail.  At least one of the two men actually recorded at the gruesome scene in London’s South-East was born in London, both were reported raised as Christians but converted to radical Islam.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron is under heavy criticism for enjoying a sunny holiday on Ibiza while UK cops investigate the murder of Lee Rigby.  Cameron cut short a visit to France when the murder happened, but flew out with his family on Saturday.  No. 10 says Cameron is still in charge and connected, accompanied by a small team of key staff who are keeping him up to date on developments.

Singapore police admit to not following procedure in the investigation into the death of American scientist Shane Todd.  And now the body may be exhumed for reexamination.  The 31-year old electronics researcher was found hanged last year, authorities say it was a suicide.  But his family never bought that story and claim he was murdered after he did work for some Chinese corporations that he feared might have compromised US interests.

The Philippines and Taiwan are conducting independent investigations of a deadly maritime dispute.  The Philippine Coast Guard shot and killed a 65-year old Taiwan fisherman in disputed waters on 9 May.  Manila says its forces were acting in self-defense because the Taiwanese boat was allegedly about to ram them. Taiwan has already imposed a host of economic measures against the Philippines, including suspending visa processing for Filipino workers and cutting trade exchanges. 

Germany is defending China in a Solar Power trade clash. Chancellor Angela Merkel is pledging to do everything to prevent the European Commission from imposing trade duties on Chinese solar panel companies.  The EC says China is “dumping” solar gear at below cost in Europe, and 47 percent duties will fix that.  Germany says that would hurt jobs in China.

It hasn’t erupted just yet, but Chilean and Argentine authorities have ordered mandatory evacuations of the areas around the active Copahue volcano.  The “Red Alerts” will affect more than 2 thousand residents of the area on the Chilean side near the Argentine border, 600 residents on the east side will also be evacuated.  (UPDATED!)

Vincent Autin and Bruno Boileau will male history on Wednesday.  They’re expected to be the first gay couple of tie the knot since France legalized same-sex marriage, the 14th nation to do so.  The ceremony will take place on the steps of City Hall in Montpellier, with Socialist Mayor Helene Mandroux presiding.
